Lahti, Finland
Pool at the bottom of the ski jump, Lahti, Finland. Obviously, it's covered with snow when the ski jump season is in session!
I am laughing just now:o) How did you found this photo? My daughter is living in Lahti and she loves to swim with her children during a winter in swimming pools inside. Lakes are best during a summer! It´s nice to read your blog, I am the biologist and have been teaching in many schools and also in the university of Joensuu - didactic!!
mimmu - my husband and I visited my Finnish penfriend in Tampere in 1989. They took us on a little trip to various places, including Lahti, when we went to the top of the ski jump, looked down and.....
Ooh, but why didn`t you ask for a slide and then you could slide down straight to the pool:)? Seriously,it`s a huge "hill". Have you been writing still with this penfriend?
Yes, though not as frequently now. We have been penfriends for about 35 years now. I hope they will make it to Australia one day! Now her kids are grown it may become possible.
